A pearl necklace transformation
My mother’s strand of pearls, from Japan, were a Christmas gift to her, from my father. For many years, my mother wore them when she dressed up, or “for good,” as she called it. After my father died, she wore them less and less, until finally they ended up in her safety deposit box.
